Correct John Deere Hood & Grille Fasteners

 We have been getting several calls lately regarding which hood and grille fastener to use for which tractor, so JR has kindly provided us with a reference sheet with the correct applications.

The JDS851 and JDS854 are listed on page 273 of our 2009 Steiner Tractor Parts catalog and fit the following:

John Deere M, MC, MI, MT hood uses 6 each of JDS851 short studs and 2 each of JDS854 long studs (long studs are at the center of the hood).

John Deere 40 standard up to SN: 69403,  40 Utility up to SN: 63119 and 40C hood uses 6 each of JDS851 short studs and 2 each of JDS854 long studs (long studs are at center of the hood).

John Deere 40 High Crop, Trycycle, special, 2 Row Utility, standard up to SN: 69404 and up, and ustility SN: 63120 and up hood uses 6 each of JDS851 short studs and 2 each of JDS854 long studs (long studs are at center of the hood). Above 40 application grille uses 3 each of JDS851 short studs.

John Deere 320 and 330 hood uses 6 each of JDS851 short studs and 2 each of JDS854 long studs (long studs are at the center of the hood). John Deere 320 and 330 grille use 3 each of JDS851 short studs.

John Deere 420, 430 up to SN: 158074,  High Crop, Special Utility, Standard, Trycycle, Utility, Special & Row Crop utility hood uses 6 each of JDS851 short studs and 2 each of JDS854 long studs (long studs are used for the center of the hood).  Above mentioned John Deere 420 and 430 application grille uses 3 each of JDS851 short studs.

 John Deere 420, 430 up do SN: 158074, Crawler hood uses 6 each of JDS851 short studs and 2 each of JDS854 long studs. (long studs are at the center of the hood). John Deere 420 and 430 Crawler grille uses 2 each of JDS851 short studs and 1 each of M2135T stud (we do not carry) if the crawler is equipped with optional light. John Deere 420 and 430 Crawler grilles use 2 each of JDS851 short studs and 1 each of M2135T stud (we do not carry) unless the Crawler is equipped with the optional light guard bottom grille panel or crankshaft pump attachment then it uses 4 each of JDS851 short studs.

John Deere 430 SN:158075 and up High Crop, Standard, Trycycle, Utility, and Row Crop Utility hood uses 6 each of JDS851 short studs and 2 each of JDS854 long studs. John Deere 430 grille SN:158075 and up uses 2 each of JDS851 short studs.

John Deere 435 hood uses 2 each of JDS851 short studs.

John Deere 435 grille uses 3 each of JDS851 short studs.

John Deere 1010 up to SN:31000 rear engine panels uses 4 each of JDS851 short studs.

John Deere 2010 up to SN:29000 uses 2 each of JDS851 short studs.

Steiner Tractor Parts Michigan Weather Report & Fall To Do List!

We are well into Autumn here in Michigan, and it is getting much cooler. We have woken up each morning this week to a heavy frost.  It is a good time to stay inside and cozy up with a good book, or maybe the 2009 Steiner Tractor Parts catalog.  We are very fortunate this year,  due to some leftover asphalt from a local highway project, Dan Steiner was able to pave some of our parking lot and our entire entrance.  Last year, when the snow got too deep or the ice made conditions treacherous, tractor trailers were sliding off of our dirt road.  This is really going to make it easier for snow removal and for us to make it into the shop safely even in poor conditions. 

While we’ve gotten a lot of our pre-winter work done outside, we still have a lot of things to do inside.  Dan Steiner is hard at work locating and sourcing some of the newest, most sought after tractor parts.  Jr (made famous by Jr’s corner) has been helping him source the products and run the interchange to find out everything they fit.  They have completed all of the corrections to the 2009 catalog and we are now implementing those changes, additions and corrections to the detail pages of our website. We hope to have that complete within a couple of weeks.  We also are back to posting regularly on mytractorforum.com after a break to finish preparations on the newest edition of our New Parts for Old Tractors catalog.  Feel free to join in the discussion on the forums, everyone there is really willing to help and loves to share photos and stories.  It feels like a family.  We also are making some plans to implement big improvements to the search on our website and also start working on some new features.  Expect to see our Tractor Stories page really evolve over the next month.

Cockshutt Collectors! Lower Radiator Water Pipe Now Available!

We’ve recently added the lower radiator water pipe for Cockshutt 40 and 50 and   Coop E4 and E5.   The stock number for this part is COS025 and the price is $19.95.  We have been getting more and more requests for parts for these Canadian built tractors. International Alternator Bracket Kit

IHS829 is a Alternator Bracket kit we designed to mount most Delco alternators to Farmall gas or LP; M, MV, Super M, Super MV, MTA, W6, W6TA, I6, O6, OS6, 400, 450, W400, 450, W400 & W450.

This bracket kit bolts unto the tractor and gives you clearance between the alternator and the hood. This makes it simple to update your charging system on your Farmall. Also check out our ABC418 1-wire alternator.

International Fasthitch Prongs Improvement

The IHS915 / IHS917  are the improved version of fasthitch prongs we are now offering. The original version IHS117B allowed tractor owners the ability to convert their fasthitch into a three-point. But they had a spee-ball end that required two individuals to put the implement on.  Now, with the quick attach it takes one person. You pull 2 pins, raise the arms under the implement and simply slide the lock pins back into place. Much easier!

Minneapolis Moline Gauges!

Collectors of Minneapolis Moline tractors have been clamoring for high quality gauges for these machines.  We now have 6 different gauges available.   All of these gauge are Made in the USA and have the MM logo. 

Oil Pressure Gauges:  MMS029R is the oil gauge for G, R, U, Z and the following without the gauge cluster 335, BIG MO 400, 445, 500, 600, & JET STAR.  This gauge has a black bezel.  We also have the same gauge available with a chrome bezel, MMS029RC.  Your choice of bezel color, for $39.95.  Either of these gauges is a replacement for the following Minneapolis Moline numbers:  JT854, 10A7986, 30-3485471.

Ammeter (Amp) gauges:  MMS027R is the amp gauge for the above mentioned MM models.  This gauge has a black bezel.  We also have the ammeter available with a chrome bezel MMS027RC.  These ammeters sell for $34.95 each currently. They replace Minneapolis Moline numbers BE455A, 10A8171, 30-3485560

Temperature gauges:  MMS031R is the temperature gauge for Minneapolis Moline tractors including some G, R, U, Z series and the following without a gauge cluster: 335, BIG MO 400, 445, 500, 600,  JET STAR (4 CYLINDER).  This gauge has a black bezel.  We also have the temp gauge available with a chrome bezel, MMS031RC.  Current price on either of these is $79.95.  Both have a 72” long capillary tube.  They replace MM numbers 10A2229, 10A2794, 30-3485587.  Please check the length needed for the capillary tube before ordering.

“International” Side Emblem Now Available!

We recently received our part number IHS767, the “International” emblem for the side of the hood on International models 656, 756, 826, 856, 1026, 1256, 1456.  These are sold individually for $85.00 each.  This emblem replaces the International Harvester number 2753920R1.  Our part number is IHS767.  Order yours today!

Oil Line / Fuel Gland & Nut for John Deere

The JDS1011 is a gland and nut that you can solder onto copper or steel line to make your own fuel and oil lines. It is made for .312 O.D. tubing and has the special .500 thread diameter used on the John Deere fitting. This makes it real simple to make your lines....JR

Another New Spring for your Antique John Deere Tractor!

On September 3^rd  we announced the arrival of several new springs.  We just received another spring for John Deere models.  Our part number JDS960 is used on several different models.  This is used on H, R, 60 Orchard and Standard, 80, 620 Orchard only and some late D models as the brake return spring.   It is also used as the clutch operating rod spring on the starting engine of an R, 760, and 5010.  This new spring replaces John Deere part number H449R.  Our current price is $5.95.

Minneapolis Moline Steering Wheels now Available!

Well, we are at it again!  We are leading the industry to provide even more new steering wheels for your antique farm tractors.  As you might now, we strive to provide exact reproduction steering wheels.  Our steering wheels are made of all new material including steel spokes. 

We’ve added 2 new steering wheels for collectors of Minneapolis Moline tractors.  The first is our part number MMS028.  This steering wheel is 17-3/4” diameter with a tapered and keyed shaft.  It fits MM models:  GVI, G705, G706, G707, G708, JET STAR 3, 4 STAR, 4 STAR SUPER, M5, M504, M602, M604, and M670.  Our current price is $95.00.  This wheel replaces MM number 10A14456. 

The second new Minneapolis Moline steering wheel is our part number MMS033.  This steering wheel is a 15” diameter wheel and replaces MM number 10A23441.  This wheel is listed to fit JET STAR 3, JET STAR 3 SUPER, M670 SUPER, G900, G955, G1000, G1050, G1350, G1355, U302.  We have this steering wheel for Minneapolis Moline priced at $60.00 currently.

International Tractor Steering Wheels now Available!

 

We now have the correct steering wheel for the International 300 Utility.  This steering wheel is for a 36 splined, 13/16” shaft.  The diameter of the wheel is 17-5/8”.  It has bare metal spokes (not rubber covered) and replaces International part number 363227R91.  Our part number is IHS173 and the current price is $60.00. 

 

We’ve also added a steering wheel that fits several Cub Cadet models. Our part number is IHS860 and the price is $64.95.  This steering wheel is listed only as serviceable, not as an exact reproduction.  It is 16” in diameter and has covered spokes.  IHS860 replaces International part numbers:  404601R1 and 7323011.  We list this to fit CUB CADETS: 154, 184, 185, 982 (ALL WITH SN 665001 - UP) and  CUB CADET 1872, CUB CADET  2072.

John Deere Man

On September 20th a group of Steiner Tractor Parts employees and their families were invited to check out Mike Holder's John Deere Museum, and what a site it was. 

Mike has been collecting tractors and memorabilia for quite some time. Mike and Pat were married in 1962 and at that time he had ONE tractor. Many years and many tractors later he now has 89 tractors housed in 6 buildings and an additional 140x20 foot building that houses his incredible display of memorabilia.

Mike built the first of 6 buildings in 1966, and as his collection grew more buildings were needed. The tractors are purely for enjoyment, and he has never sold one. For a better look at some of the tractors and museum displays take a look at the photo album we have posted.

On July 6th of this year Mike could have lost his life while driving his 1955 John Deere 50 back to the barn after taking down weeds along the front of the property. He had just reached down to turn off the mower blade when his tractor was hit from behind by a car doing at least 60 mph. The rear tire was torn off and the axle was sheared throwing the tire several yards. Mike was thrown off the right side of the tractor and his leg was taken across the just turned off blades. He sustained several deep gashes down the left side of his body, and was not released to walk for nearly 6 weeks. Mike has since recovered and has started repairs to the tractor. International Harvester Instrument Panel Housing Now Available

 Do you have an IH Model 766, 966, 1066, 1466, 1468, 1566, 1568 or Hydro 100?  The cast aluminum housing for the instrument panel on these models has threads that are stripped out.  Restorers have been clamoring for this part for years.   We know that this will help to complete your restoration project.  The original part number from IH for this product is 531038R1.  We are offering this for $85.00 currently. It is still cast aluminum just like the original. The IHS792 is now available by following the link to Steiner Tractor Parts.

New John Deere Steering Wheel Shaft Bushings!

Need a new steering wheel shaft bushing for your John Deere tractors?  Now, you can get it right here at Steiner Tractor. 

We just added the bushing for the following John Deere models:  B, BN, BW, BNH, BWH All B Series with a serial number higher than 201000, 50, 520, 620 ORCHARD, R, 80, 820, 830.  The bushing for these tractors is our stock number JDS898.  The current price is $14.95. JDS898 replaces John Deere number B37R.

We also just added the steering wheel shaft bushing for these John Deere tractors:  A, AN, AW, ANH, AWH (All A series higher than serial number 460000), G, GM, GW, GN, GH  (G series with a serial number higher than 47996), 60, 70, 620, 720.  The stock number on the bushing for these tractors is JDS904 and the price is $14.95.  This part replaces the John Deere number A1910R.

If you are replacing these bushings, you might consider a new steering wheel acorn nut to go with it. We offer our stock number JDS519 for $14.95. The steering wheel nut replaces John Deere number F1745R. New John Deere Clutch Lever Pivot Bushing and Brake or Clutch Pedal Bushings!

We’ve recently added a bushing that can be used on the Clutch Lever Pivot, or the Brake or the Clutch Pedal.  Our stock number for this new bushing is JDS891.  This is used as a Clutch Lever Pivot Bushing on the following John Deere models:   A, AN, AW, ANH, AWH, D, G, GH, GM, GW, W, R, 80, 820, 830, 60, 70, 70D, 520, 530, 620, 630, 720, 730, 720D, 730D.  This is used as a brake or clutch pedal bushing on the following John Deere Models:   4030, 4230, 4430, 4040, 4230, 4240, 4430, 4440, 4050, 4055, 4255, 4455, 4230, 4555, 4755, 4955, 4630, 4640, 4650, 4840, 4840, 4850, 8020, 8430, 8630, 8440, 8640, 8450, 8650, 8560, 8850. We sell this bushing for $7.50 each.  JDS891 replaces John Deere number A1197R and R51192.  You can order easily order these through our website!  Also, if you are ordering this bushing, you may be interested in our Belt Pulley Brake Lining for John Deere tractors.  Check out stock number ABC187!

We also added JDS893, the clutch lever pivot bushing for John Deere model B and 50.  This same part is used as a Brake Pedal bushing on the following models:  820 3 CYL, 830 3 CYL, 1020, 1520, 1530, 2020, 2030, 2155, 2240, 2350, 2355, 2440, 2510, 2520, 2550, 2555, 2630, 2640, 2750, 2755, 2840, 2855, 2940, 2950, 3010, 3020, 3150, 4000, 4010, 4020, 4320, 4520, 4620, 5010, 5020, 6030, 7020, 7520, INDUSTRIAL 210C, INDUSTRIAL 300B.  This can also be used as a starter lever bushing 80, 820, 830 2 CYL.
